It appears that the makers of Varun Dhawan’s next have finally found their leading lady. Reportedly, Keerthy Suresh has been roped in for the Hindi adaptation of Atlee’s Telugu hit, Theri (2016). The National Award-winning south actor had been looking to foray into Bollywood, and the Atlee and Murad Khetani joint production seemed to be a perfect start in Hindi cinema. Keerthy will not only play a strong and glamorous role, will also showcase her versatility in the film that has drama and action in equal measure. The makers are yet to finalise the second heroine for the movie that will be helmed by Kalees. Shooting is slated to start next month in the city. Plans are on to wrap up the shooting by November to meet the May 31, 2024 date with cinemas. Varun plays the role of a cop, essayed by Thalapathy Vijay in the Telugu original.
Travelling twosome
Over a year since rumours began of a romance brewing between Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday, the two actors are currently holidaying overseas. The rumoured couple was recently spotted in Lisbon, as they soaked in the sights and even posed for pictures with fans. In another image uploaded yesterday, Adi and Ananya can be seen engrossed in a conversation in a restaurant. Not too long ago, they were spotted chilling in Doha, a video of which went viral online. Previously, pictures of them attending a concert in Spain indicated that they are definitely a couple. For the unversed, the duo bonded at Karan Johar’s 50th birthday bash last year and were later spotted hanging together at Kriti Sanon’s Diwali party. And yet they remain mum about the relationship!
To new challenges
Alia Bhatt is set to collaborate with mentor Karan Johar yet again. This time around for a film to be helmed by Monica O My Darling director Vasan Bala. Pre-production has begun and shooting is scheduled to commence in September. The yet-untitled movie is said to offer Alia a new challenge as an actor, in keeping with Bala’s unconventional storytelling. Apparently, it is a jailbreak story and the rest of the casting is being finalised.
Emotional connect
In an earlier episode of Weekend Ka Vaar on Bigg Boss OTT 2, Salman Khan expressed his displeasure with the behaviour of the housemates. So much so that it triggered speculation about his considering exiting the reality show. However, that seems unlikely as he had spoken about being attached to the show during its launch. “Bigg Boss is an emotion for me. I always say ki main attachment se door rehta hoon. But Bigg Boss is different. I have hosted it for so many years now that it feels like an extension of myself,” he had said. Considering the strong association he has with the show having hosted it for the last 13 years, and taken over the OTT version this year, it seems this bond is cemented forever.
