The buzz is that some of the brand endorsements of Shah Rukh Khan are being re-looked in the light of son Aryan’s case. The ed-tech company that the superstar endorses is in trouble. It is facing a severe backlash on social media along with being the subject of a meme-fest. A section of netizens is calling out the learning app for “associating with an actor whose son is involved in a drugs case”. They have been threatening the company’s boycott as “promoting a learning app by someone who cannot teach his child to act lawfully reflects poorly on the company”. There’s chatter that the company is pulling off the ads wherever possible for the time being. Last month, it had launched a new campaign with him. Though King Khan is the face of several top-notch brands, the educational brand was one of his biggest sponsorship deals. SRK has already pressed the pause button on all his film shoots.
Overcoming the odds
The Indian Cancer Society has launched a song of hope, Mai lad lunga, dedicated to the grit and determination of cancer warriors. The track, composed and rendered by Amit Trivedi, depicts the inspiring journey of a youngster Vansh, who survived bone cancer. The virtual launch event on Friday was attended by cancer survivors, oncologists and Indian Cancer Society members. “The song’s video will inspire many in their fight against cancer,” said Trivedi.
KJo drops in
The steady stream of visitors at Mannat continues. On Friday night, Karan Johar called on buddies Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan. The filmmaker, who was travelling, rushed to Mumbai on hearing about Aryan’s case. KJo considers Aryan an elder brother to children, Yash and Roohi.

Action time
Ayushmann Khurrana, who is known for his socially relevant films, will be seen doing high-octane scenes in Anirudh Iyer’s directorial venture, Action Hero.
“The script is zany, it’s fresh, it’s disruptive,” says the actor. The project also marks his third collaboration with producer Aanand L Rai after Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017) and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020). Action Hero is billed as a slick actioner with an offbeat satirical sense of humour.
Let’s make some noise
Saif Ali Khan had a reason to rejoice on the set of Adipurush. He has completed the shoot of Om Raut’s film, co-starring Prabhas. Khan, who plays Lankesh in the mythological, raised his arms and clenched his fists to signal the end. “It’s a film wrap for Lankesh. Had so much fun shooting with SAK,” posted Raut. The film, also starring Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh, is slated to release in August 2022.
