Have you heard? A special Mother’s Day for Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka Chopra and husband Nick Jonas

There couldn’t have been a better Mother’s Day for Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The Matrix actor and husband Nick Jonas announced the birth of their child this January. While reports revealed that their first born is a daughter and is now named Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, there was no word from the couple. According to PCJ’s latest post, their baby girl was in NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) all this while and it’s only now that they have got her home. Sharing a family picture, giving a glimpse of their daughter, Priyanka wrote, “On this Mother’s Day, we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced. After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home. Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home. Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let’s get it MM! Mommy and Daddy love you.” Cousin Parineeti Chopra commented, “Seeing the both of you like this the last three months has been both hard and inspiring. Mimi didi — I saw a soldier in the hospital — you. And little BD has taught us so much already and she doesn’t even know it! Chalo, now time to start spoiling her.”

Raj, Janhvi take the field

Filming for Mr and Mrs Mahi, starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, started yesterday. The cricket drama has both the actors playing cricketers, named Mahendra and Mahima respectively. Producer Karan Johar wished the team, saying, “Best of luck to the entire team of Mr and Mrs Mahi for starting the first innings! Knock it out of the park.” Earlier, Janhvi shared pictures from her prep with cricketer Dinesh Kartik to get the nuances of the game right.

Courting trouble

In the case filed by NGO Youth Against Crime against Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar, the Delhi High Court said yesterday that an act like pre-natal sex determination can’t be trivialised. The counsel for the movie’s makers argued that there is a disclaimer in the trailer. However, the bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla, said it is barely visible or legible. The hearing continues today.

The no-rehearsal star

While most actors prefer practicing their dance moves till they are perfect, it seems Junior NTR doesn’t care too much for rehearsals. According to star choreographer, Sekhar Master, the actor, who wowed audiences with his moves in the pacy number, Naatu naatu in SS Rajamouli’s RRR, ‘is a no-rehearsals star’. The veteran dance master recently revealed that the actor can perform the dance moves by mere observation, and is also  a single-take dancer. In Sekhar Master’s words, “If there is one hero who does not want rehearsals, it is Jr NTR. He doesn’t even keep up with his dance strikes. He only needs one glance and is able to perfectly imitate it. He is the only hero who does not practice.” The RRR actor will reunite with Acharya director Koratala Siva for NTR30 and later with KGF maker Prashanth Neel for NTR31.

Manushi’s debut doubts

Former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar, who makes her movie debut with Prithviraj, revealed she was all set to take up another film during the waiting period. She was anxious when the period drama got delayed due to the pandemic. “When I was considering taking up more work, my mother told me, ‘Even if you do two films for the rest of your life, we will be proud of you’. So I decided to wait,” she recalled.

Ranbir’s lucky number explained

For long, we have known that Ranbir Kapoor considers 8 as his lucky number. He reportedly revealed the reason during a promotional event for the Celebrity Football Cup 2022. The actor, who is part of Bunty Walia’s All Stars Football Club, said that his fascination for the number is because of mother Neetu Kapoor’s birthday, July 8. Additionally, when the number is turned horizontally, it resembles the infinity symbol. Hence he decided to always wear the number 8. Interestingly, its connection was clearly evident in wife Alia Bhatt’s kaleeras during their wedding ceremonies last month.

Feeling validated

Ayushmann Khurrana is stoked about the response generated by the trailer of his film, Anek, that releases on May 27. “We are so diverse, different and unique as Indians, but do we celebrate that and make it our strength? Anek intends to pointedly ask and hopefully answer that question which is why this film is so special to me,” says the actor. He beams, “The fact that people across India are voicing the need for unity and inclusivity after watching it is enough validation for me.”

Silver jubilee celebrations

Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan celebrated her 25th birthday recently with a pool party. Aamir, Reena Dutta, Kiran Rao, younger brother Azad, boyfriend Nupur Shikhare and other friends participated in the revelry. Ira, who used to play football during her growing-up years, ensured that her love for the sport was reflected in the cake as well.
