Laal Singh Chaddha’s action team hosts special screening of their lockdown film for Aamir Khan; keen to have an OTT release

Aamir Khan has hunkered down in Ladakh, filming the final schedule of his long-in-the-making 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. Interestingly, while director Advait Chandan and the perfectionist are giving shape to their ambitious project, the action team employed for the film has designed another movie of their own. The team recently held a special screening of their sci-fi film, Ultimate Present, for Khan, co-star Naga Chaitanya, producer Kiran Rao and the director.

The superstar, who is always on the lookout for unique voices, was keen to watch the film as soon as he got wind of it. “On his day off, an intimate screening was hosted at the ballroom of the hotel the cast and crew are staying in. The 90-minute film was shot by the action director and stunt artistes during the lockdown last year. Since Aamir is known for his keen sense of filmmaking, they wanted his opinion on the movie that explores time travel,” says a source present at the screening.

Post the screening, Khan had words of encouragement for the team while South star Chaitanya appreciated the humorous treatment of the subject. “While watching the film, Aamir kept saying, ‘Mazaa aa gaya.’ There is a chance that Aamir may present the film, or initiate talks with OTT platforms regarding its release. However, things are at the nascent stage at the moment.
After it’s a wrap on 'Laal Singh Chaddha', the action team will sit down to edit their material,” adds the source. Meanwhile, Chandan’s directorial venture — an official adaptation of Forrest Gump (1994) — will reach its finish line on July 24.
