Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 has set the box office on fire with its impressive run. The film brought out the Housefull boards out in several theatres. The release of the Anil Sharma-directorial was no less a festival as audience came to the theatres with their families, friends and some even came in trucks and tractors to the cinema halls. Whistles, cheers, claps were heard inside cinema halls after every punchy dialogues and physical punches. The love has resonated at the box office.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar-starrer 'OMG 2' also hit the theatres on August 11. With minimal promotions, the film is thriving on a positive word of mouth. After opening at Rs 10.26 crore, the film only saw a steady growth at the box office. The film has collected Rs 43. 11 crore in its first weekend. The total weekend collection of OMG 2 is less than the Sunday collection of 'Gadar 2' which is over Rs 50 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to share the update of 'OMG 2's weekend collections. "FANTASTIC TRENDING… #OMG2 has an EXCELLENT opening weekend… Look at the day-wise [SUPERB] growth, the audience has spoken loud and clear… SMASH-HIT… Biz on Tue [#IndependenceDay] will be HUGE… Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 15.30 cr, Sun 17.55 cr. Total: ₹ 43.11 cr. #India biz," he wrote.
'OMG 2' directed by Amit Rai was given an 'A' certificate by the CBFC. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in the lead.
