Dilip Kumar no more, Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Huma Qureshi mourn thespian's death

Dilip Kumar passed away at the age of 98 due to age-related health issues. The Bollywood industry mourned the veteran actor's death on social media.

The Indian film fraternity members such as Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Jr NTR among many other mourned the death of veteran Bollywood actor Mohammed Yusuf Khan, known to movie lovers across the world as Dilip Kumar. He passed away in the early hours of Wednesday. Dilip Kumar was admitted to the PD Hinduja Hospital on June 30 for age-related health issues. His wife Saira Banu Khan had earlier tweeted about his improving medical condition. But that was a short-lived glimmer of hope.


Actor Akshay Kumar tweeted on Monday morning calling Dilip Kumar "The Hero".

Actor Ajay Devgn went down memory lane and recalled "many moments" shared with the late legend.

Telugu star Jr NTR paid a tribute and said that the veteran thespian will be missed.

Actress Huma Qureshi says she is grateful to witness the late thespians work.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh shared a picture with Dilip Kumar and his actress wife Saira Bano. He wrote a long note on Twitter thanking the late star for being his teacher.

Actor Jaaved Jaaferi called Dilip Kumar an inspiration.

Actor Tusshar Kapoor shared a poster of the film "Saudagar", featuring Dilip Kumar.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta called the late icon "the greatest mainstream actor India ever had or will ever have. There will never be another Dilip Kumar."

Actor and comedian Rajpal Yadav posted a picture of Dilip Kumar on Instagram and shared that he will always remain an inspiration to all. "Dilip Sahab, you were and will remain an inspiration not only to artists, but to everyone. Very hard to accept that you are no longer among us Dilip Kumar sahab, but your memories will stay with us forever. My deepest condolences to Saira Banu ji and your whole family."

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar shared a close bond with Dilip Kumar and considered him her elder brother. Mourning his demise, she wrote on Twitter, “Yusuf Bhai has left his little sister. His demise feels like the end of an era. I am not able to grasp this news. I am very sad and at a loss of words. He has left me with memories and words. [sic]" In another tweet, she wrote, “Yusuf bhai was ill for several years. He was not able to recognise anyone. Saira Banu left everything and devoted herself to him. She had no other life. I pray that his soul rests in peace. [sic]"
