Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s maiden collaboration happened in 2013 when the duo came together for the first time in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela. They went on to be seen in his other magnum opuses like Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, and are now coming together for Kabir Khan’s ‘83.

That’s not all, Padukone also has a staggering line-up of some massive films like Pathan with Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham, the remake of The Intern, Draupadi, Shakun Batra’s next with Siddhant Chaturvedi, and a giant saga with Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas.
And in an interview with Femina magazine, she spilled the beans on Ranveer Singh and what was it about him that attracted her and how the actor isn’t as boisterous as people seem he is. She said, “Everybody talks about his energy but what most people don’t realise is that this is not who he is all the time. What attracted me to him was the fact is that we have been together for eight years and are still discovering each other.”
She added, “I think that is the beauty of our relationship. We started off not as lovers but close friends, who connected at some level, even though we are very different people. So, even today, I don’t think he knows everything about me, and I can’t say I know everything about him.”
When asked about her take on Singh as an actor, this is how she deciphered, “As an actor, he is probable the best we’ve had in a really long time; his versatility is unmatched. I don’t think there’s any actor in the current generation who has his versatility.”
She continued, “Very often you still see the actor in the character, but, when you see Ranveer play a role, there is an absolute transformation and I haven’t seen that in a long time. Professionally, whatever he’s achieved is there for everybody to see... But, at a personal level, he is all heart, and his sense of humour, his achievements, his versatility, his warmth are obvious.”
Talking about Singh, he too has an interesting line-up of films like YRF’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Rohit Shetty’s CirKus, Kabir Khan’s ‘83, and Karan Johar’s Takht.
