Bittersweet ending for Saiyami Kher

The year 2022 has been all work and little play for Saiyami Kher. But the actor is not complaining. She recently wrapped up the shoot of Rahul Dholakia’s Agni, her fourth project of the year. The thriller that revolves around firefighters not only marks her maiden collaboration with the director, but also sees her sharing screen space with Pratik Gandhi for the first time. The union, she says, has been joyous. “I never like the feeling of wrapping up a film, especially when I work with like-minded people. Shooting for Agni has been a blast. Rahul sir is relaxed and wonderful to work with; he knows exactly what he wants. This was a tough film to shoot, but Rahul sir was Captain Cool throughout. Pratik is a powerhouse of talent, and it’s a treat to work with such a skilled [artiste],” she smiles.

After exploring the world of firefighters, she has dived deep into the universe of producer Anurag Kashyap’s yet-untitled next opposite Gulshan Devaiah. With it, she will round off the year that saw her add Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Faadu, Breathe: Into the Shadows 3, and R Balki’s Ghoomer to her resumé. “In my short career, I’ve had the good fortune of being directed by Rakeysh [Omprakash] Mehra, Anurag Kashyap, R Balki, Neeraj Pandey, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Raj-DK. These names are on the wish-list of every actor. Each one of them has taught me so much.”
