Arjun Rampal

Remember 3 Monkeys, the Arjun Rampal-led heist thriller that was announced in late 2021? Director duo Abbas-Mustan and the actor completed principal photography of the web film, which reportedly revolves around a bank heist, early last year. But now, almost one-and-a-half years since calling it a wrap on the shoot, the makers apparently canned additional portions at the Golden Tobacco Studios in Vile Parle.

It is heard that the directors wanted to add a new plot twist to the thriller, and hence retraced their steps to the set. A source says, “Abbas-Mustan are known for their suspense thrillers. The recently-shot patch sequence adds an unexpected twist to the narrative, thus upping the shock value of the film. It will be a part of the climax. On Saturday and Sunday, the team shot these portions with a limited crew.”

The source adds that the film’s post-production is complete, and a release is in order later this year. 3 Monkeys, also starring Priya Varrier, follows the intertwined lives of three characters, each of whom hides a dark secret. It will mark television actor Tunisha Sharma’s posthumous release.
