Ananya Panday is enjoying the successful opening of her recently released film, Dream Girl 2. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the rom-com is headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana. Amid the positive response to the film at the box office, the actress shared a hilarious picture of her father Chunky Panday and Sunny Deol.

The picture was from Sunny and Chunky's film, Lootere, which released in 1993. In the picture, Ananya's father can be seen cross-dressed as a woman. He wore a pink dress with a faux fur stole. Sunny sported a turbaned look. "Gadar 2 meets Barbie meets DreamGirl 2. Can’t get over this. Thank you @divyasolgama for finding these gems," the actress wore on Instagram.

Manish Malhotra commented and revealed he made the outfits for Chunky and Sunny. The designer wrote, "I made these outfits for chunky and sunny in lootere. My first film with chunky (sic)."
Chunky teamed up with Ananya for one of Dream Girl 2's promotional videos. In the clip, the actress can be seen complaining to him about Ayushmann’s character Pooja getting all the limelight. She asked him to call and talk to the production house, Balaji Motion Pictures. Instead of solving her problem, Chunky ended up calling Pooja and flirting with her.

Dream Girl 2, co-starring Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, Seema Pahwa, Vijay Raaz, Abhishek Banerjee and Manjot Singh, released on August 25 in theatres globally. It is the sequel to Raaj's 2019 film. The prequel starred Ayushmann with Nushrratt Bharuccha.
The film took a positive start at the box office on Friday with a collection of Rs 10.69 crores. Due to strong word of mouth and pre-release buzz, Dream Girl 2 is expected to grow further over the weekend. Commenting on the opening collection, Ayushmann said in a statement, "It feels amazing to deliver my career’s best opening with Dream Girl 2. Dream Girl is a franchise that has given me a lot of love and I’m really happy with the start that Dream Girl 2 has got at the box office."
