Alia Bhatt on filming Hollywood debut Heart Of Stone amid pregnancy: I'm like 'Wow, I did that?

In an interview with AP, Alia Bhatt reacted to shooting her Hollywood debut Heart Of Stone while in the initial stages of pregnancy

Alia Bhatt, the 'Darling' of the Indian film industry, is looking forward to the release of her debut Hollywood project, Heart Of Stone. It is a Netflix film co-starring Gal Gadot. Heart Of Stone is releasing on August 11. Ahead of it, the actress interacted with international publications. During one interview, Alia reacted to shooting for Heart Of Stone amid pregnancy.

In an interview with AP, Alia was asked about filming action and key sequences during her pregnancy. She quipped, "I’m like, ‘Wow, I did that?’" Alia further added, "I don’t think so, but it looks like I did." The actress shot for the film in May last year. In June 2022, she announced her pregnancy. 

Last year, Alia spoke about performing action stunts while being in the initial stages of pregnancy. She credited the team of Heart Of Stone for making the shoot smooth and comfortable for her. Talking to Variety, the actress said, "It was my first Hollywood big English picture experience and I had quite a task at hand because I was shooting for the first time an action movie. But I’m also pregnant so there were so many layers for me to deal with. But they made it so seamless and so easy and so comfortable for me. It’s something that I will never forget because of how beautifully and how well I was treated."

Alia tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor in April 2022 at their Bandra residence. Two months later, she shared the news of her pregnancy on Instagram. The couple welcomed a baby girl on November 6, 2022. Alia and Ranbir named her Raha. 

Four months after Raha's birth, Alia returned to work. She shot Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani's song Tum Kya Mile In Kashmir. Sharing her experience of returning to work postpartum, Alia shared a story on Instagram along with a picture from the sets of the romantic song. "I look tired, but satisfied. Going back to work as a new mom in any profession will never be easy.. you feel various emotions, all at once, not to mention the major physical difference in your energy.. but I am very grateful and feel very privileged and supported by a team and crew that was understanding," she shared.

Alia added, "I feel for new mothers everywhere … especially those who have to resume work immediately postpartum cause it’s never easy. Vaibhavi ma'am would try plan her shots according to my nursing schedule and my mom and sister were babysitting whenever I was away!!! But it was my baby girl’s first trip to Kashmir and seeing the mountains through her eyes was just everything."
