Akshay Kumar, who was under home quarantine after testing positive for COVID, has now shared yet another health update

Days after Akshay Kumar began shooting for Ram Setu, he tested positive for COVID-19. The superstar shared a health update on social media and wrote, “I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols I have immediately isolated myself. I am under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me get themselves tested and take care. Back in action soon.” Kumar had been shooting with Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha for Abhishek Sharma’s film. It is learnt that the shoot has ground to a halt, and unit members are getting tested.

On Monday, Akshay shared yet another health update on his Instagram. The actor wrote that under medical advice he has been hospitalised as a precautionary measure. Here what he wrote, "Thank you everyone for your warm wishes and prayers, they seem to be working. I am doing fine, but as a precautionary measure under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home soon. Take care [sic]"

Kumar is the latest Bollywood celebrity to have tested positive for COVID-19 after Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Govinda, Aditya Narayan, Rupali Ganguly, Kartik Aaryan and Aamir Khan among others.
Akshay Kumar had been working through the lockdown, and he was the first to be back on the set during the lockdown. Last May, he shot for a virus awareness campaign with R Balki, followed by the shoot of Bell Bottom in August. Kumar is awaiting the release of Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. He also has Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re, Farhad Samji-directed Bachchan Pandey and Yash Raj Films project Prithviraj in the pipeline.
