Aamir Khan tests positive for COVID; under home quarantine

Aamir Khan's spokesperson shared with the media, “Mr Aamir Khan has tested positive for Covid 19. He is at home in self-quarantine, following all the protocols and he’s doing fine."

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has been tested positive for COVID-19, a source close to the actor confirmed the news in an official statement. The actor, who recently quit social media, was last seen attending the special screening of Koi Jaane Na, starring Kunal Kapoor and Amyra Dastur. The actor has a special appearance in the movie, where Aamir was seen shaking the leg with Elisabet Elli AvrRam for the song Harr Funn Maula.

All those who came in contact with him in the recent past should get themselves tested as a precautionary measure. Thank you for all your wishes and concern."

Speaking about the actor, Aamir quit social media a day after his birthday on March 15. In a media interaction, the actor was quoted saying, "Do not put your theories about me quitting social media. Main apni dhunki mein rehta hoon (I live by my will), and above all where am I on social media? I thought to myself that as it is I don't share anything, so I decided to quit."

Aamir Khan was busy with the post-production for his next release, Laal Singh Chaddha, opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, which also stars Mona Singh playing a pivotal role in the movie. The film is an official remake of Tom Hanks-starrer Forrest Gump. The film is directed by Advait Chandan. Apart from playing the lead character in this Hindi adaptation of the Oscar-winning film, Forrest Gump, Aamir is also the producer of this magnum opus project. Laal Singh Chaddha is touted to be one of the most anticipated films in the last two years. Interestingly, it brings the much-loved pairing of Aamir-Kareena back to the big screen post their blockbuster titled, 3 Idiots. Apart from it being the official adaptation of one of the most popular and award-winning Hollywood film, (Forrest Gump), it's this pairing that has raised excitement and curiosity amongst the movie-goers.
