'Gangs Of Wasseypur' actor states he would rather don the director's hat than script a film himself
It is not uncommon for experienced actors to eventually sit in the director’s chair and call the shots. And Manoj Bajpai is no different, except that he would be only willing to do so if he has a ready-made script available. It turns out that the 43-year-old is admittedly averse to writing. He admits that he would rather direct a film than pen a screenplay.

The actor tells us that he’s simply not cut out for authorship and explains, “Writing is a lonely job. I look at writers and imagine them sitting in a corner trying to come up with a story. I can’t do that.”
He also reveals that it’s actually a case of once-bitten-twice-shy for him. “I once wrote a play during my theatre days and I swore later that I won’t write again,” he laughs. So will it be only serious roles for Manoj now? Or is a rom-com on its way? The actor quips, “I’ll promptly work in a romantic comedy. Provided Anurag (Kashyap is a close friend) directs it!”u00a0
