Actor-comedian Vir Das, who is best known for tickling funnybones with his antics on stage and in films, did some serious acting in the recently-released film, '31st October', and in a short film, 'Raakh', opposite Richa Chadha. Now, it appears he's enjoying being unfunny. Vir has signed an out-and-and action movie to be directed by Harish Raut and will shortly leave for London for a 30-day prep.
Vir confirms, saying, "This is the first time I am doing an action film. In fact I was always excited about exploring this genre and now that I will be performing the stunts myself, I am thrilled to be going to London and learn the techniques."
The actor has taken up the challenge of pummelling big, hefty men and will soon start training for it. The film is scheduled to go on floors early next year.
"This year was for new things. I donned the hat of a man seeking revenge for his wife's death (Raakh). It was a psychotic role. I am also watching shows, which are absolutely unlike me, discovering an entirely new world. I am binge watching House Of Cards these days," Vir says, revealing the reason behind his sudden urge to experiment with roles.
