But then there are some others, who will not have the luxury of taking a break on the occasion to be with their close ones. hitlist takes a look at the Bollywood celebs who will miss the revelry in town.

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt
The lead pair of Vikas Bahl’s Shandaar are also shooting in England’s capital city. Pankaj Kapoor is also shooting alongside the duo.

A homesick Alia recently posted online about missing her mother, Soni Razdan and sister, Shaheen. Being away from family on a festive occasion is going to be even tougher, no?
Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif
This rumoured couple are leaving for Thailand today for the shoot of Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos. A major portion of the film will be filmed in that exotic location. Though they will be away from home, we’re guessing they will surely have some fireworks on the sets.
Deepika Padukone
The leggy actress, who has Happy New Year releasing this Friday, won’t be in town for Diwali. However, she will spend the day with her family in Bangalore.
Richa Chaddha
Labelled as Anurag Kashyap’s latest muse, Richa will be shooting in Banaras for Masan. The film is the debut feature of Neeraj Ghaywan, Anurag’s associate. She will return to Mumbai only in the first week of November.
Asin
The actress loves the festival of lights. But this time round, she is likely to give it a miss, the first time since she moved to Mumbai. Asin will be jetting off to New York before this Diwali. She says, “I am really disappointed that I will miss out on all the festivities in the country. We never celebrated Diwali so much back home in Kerala as we do in the North but ever since I moved to Mumbai, Diwali had become one of my favourite festivals, specially since it falls close to my birthday. Though I don’t burst crackers, I love lighting lamps with my family, dressing up in traditional attire and the sweets, of course! Unfortunately, this year, I wont be here to enjoy all that."
Tusshar Kapoor
This actor will have to skip the lavish card party that is held at his place on Diwali every year. Tusshar will be shooting for Milap Zaveri’s Mastizaade in Bangkok. So will co-stars Vir Das and Sunny Leone.
Arshad Warsi
He, along with co-star, Jackky Bhagnani, is away in London for Ashish R Mohan’s Welcome to Karachi.
Ali Fazal
He is in Cape Town, South Africa, shooting for Mahesh Bhatt’s Khamoshiyan. He will have co-actors Gurmeet Chaudhary and Sapna Pabbi to keep him company.
Rahul Khanna
Currently in Los Angeles to shoot for the US television show, The Americans, in which he plays a Russian spy, Rahul will be away from home on Diwali. He is also said to be ‘too busy’ to promote his upcoming film, Fireflies, opposite Monica Dogra.
