Late nights, clubs, short skirts, dark lanes and even your abusive husband's bedroom... How long are you going to run away? How long are you going to avoid what makes you uncomfortable because some unscrupulous, contemptible men can't learn to keep their hormones in check? It's past the time to stop and think. It's time to act! And that's exactly what Taapsee Pannu's latest video teaches you. Titled "Unblushed Taapsee| #HitBack", this video goes beyond being inspirational – it awakens us and rouses us to arm ourselves with self-defence.
The video shows many women who are seen apologising for wearing a short skirt, for having a drink, for a night out, for walking home alone and everything else that they do for the fear of societal norms. Just then, Taapsee Pannu walks in and tells us that they aren't apologising to society, they are apologising to themselves, to their bodies. It's high time we learnt to fight with these men, it's high time we started living our life in our way! This video is an awakening call to all the young girls and women out there who treat self-defence as a hobby, as a summer sport. Self-defence is no long just an option, it's a necessity, and a must-have skill for every woman.
Taapsee Pannu commented saying, "When team Blush approached me for this video, it was almost immediately that I said yes. It's time for us to be responsible for our own safety and learn to protect ourselves. The video resonates with me and I am glad to be a part of something so powerful, something I hope every woman will understand and act upon."
It's time that every woman, every mother, every wife and daughter arms themselves today to combat the devilry that lurks our world. An enough is enough tonality, the film screams out loud and clear, that there are no more excuses to learning self-defense. Women owe it to their bodies. And with it, we take a solemn pledge that from this day on, self-defense, is no longer just an 'option', it is every self-respecting woman's necessity.
