Insiders say the identity of the young actor has been kept strictly under wraps. Until now. We found out the boy is none other than six-year-old Mumbai-based lad, Vishesh Bansal.

Sources say the channel and the show’s producer BK Modi had asked the crew as well as Vishesh to keep a low profile. A crewmember says, “We are going to show Buddha’s life and hence wanted to cast a child actor to play prince Siddhartha. Vishesh was roped in soon after the first audition. The makers don’t want to reveal his look.”

Even Vishesh’s parents have been asked to keep mum on the matter. “Everyone has a finger on their lips. However eventually we would have to replace him as young Siddhartha is shown growing older in the show,” adds the source. Says Modi, “We are not unveiling the details as of now and it will happen at the correct time.” In a similar move, the makers of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi had kept the identity of its lead actress Mona Singh a secret too.u00a0
