Sunil Shetty's next, Rave (Radical Audio Video Experience) will be based on the drugs bust at a pub in Juhu last year where 239 kids were detained by the cops for either consuming and distributing drugs.

Reveals an industry source, "The film tells how a rave party was bust by the cops and how this affects four characters played by Shetty, Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan and Sunny Deol."

Dutt opted out

The source further adds, "Initially, Sanjay Dutt was to play the main lead but he dropped out due to date hassles at the last minute and was replaced by Deol. Sunny plays the narcotics cop heading the raid."

The film is said to have many real-life incidents thrown in from two major cop busts one at Bombay 72 last year and the other in Pune a few years ago. Debutant Nawab Shah will direct the film.

Says Nawab, "I've had the story for the past two years. Sunil has been locked on for the film as one of the four main characters. I am currently working on the film's casting."

Says Sunil Shetty, "It's a very interesting subject as it will talk about the drug cartel and how drugs are being smuggled in from Afghanistan and other places. I am excited about the film."
