Stay fit with swordplay

Arya Babbar's career choices haven't really been conventional and neither is his workout regime. The actor, who's been noticed in films like Guru and will be next seen in Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail, has been practising Samurai sword fighting since the past two years.

Says the actor, "I started learning this martial art form for a production for three-four months and then found that I really enjoyed it. It isu00a0 basically a Manipuri martial art form with the use of a sword."

Arya feels that this workout has graceful specialised moves and helps him build power and grace. It also helps him in balance and makes him aware and conscious about every part of his body. "It needs to be practiced everyday. However, that's not always possible. You can't just start with a sword in hand. So when I'm outdoors I usually practise using my palm as a sword," he explains.u00a0u00a0u00a0

Apart from the sword fighting, Arya also runs for an hour and does around 400 push-ups a day. "I also try and swim or do squats at least once a week. But running is a must," he signs off.
