Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: No childhood is complete without this film. The magic flying car, the scientist daddy, the lovely, truly scrumptious word supercalafragalisticexpialidocious! Dick Van Dyke actually met my mum in the 1970s and wanted her to act with him but my daddy didn't let her. How sad!!
Maine Pyar Kiya: It released during my school holidays we lived in London we were visiting Delhi. This was the first time I saw a movie in a theatre in India. It was such a sweet, innocent love story with some lovely music and great chemistry between the lead pair. And the most gorgeous man appeared on screen and stole everyone's hearts Salman Khan.u00a0
Cinema Paradiso: I was 12 and had just started learning Italian. Our Italian teacher was extremely passionate about cinema and would show us some of his favourite films. Cinema Paradiso struck a very deep chord. I realised the the magic of storytelling with this movie.
Mr India: The song Hawa Hawaii used to send me into a fit of giggles. And like most kids, I too wanted a magic band to make me disappear as and when I wanted. There was the disappearing man, the beautiful Sridevi and the evil villain! What a combination!
Naseeb: I remember being mesmerised every time I saw it. The film begins with a winning lottery ticket and had a crazy climax with the leads in disguise. There was also the kabbadi song with my favourite Rishi Kapoor, Hema Malini as a singing diva and the amazing Big B! Naseeb was filled with twists, turns, drama and fabulous music and even started the trend of superstar cameos in a song (John Jani Janardhan).u00a0 Everything spelt pure entertainment.
