Shocking! Arjun Kapoor assaulted by drunk man

After buzz of a drunk man allegedly assaulting Arjun Kapoor on the sets of his upcoming film 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' in Uttarakhand did the rounds, the Bollywood actor took to Twitter to refute the reports. He said that he had no clue about the incident and that the crowd had been peaceful on the sets. He further said that there 'might' have been a disturbance off camera, but the local force never let it reach till him. Arjun Kapoor highlighted that after reading such reports, his family panicked and urged media to use words with caution. Arjun tweeted, "How come I have no clue about this happening? The crowd here has been peaceful. There might have been a disturbance off camera but the local force has never let it reach till me. My entire family was in panic this morning so using words like assault isn't cool just for effect."

Here's what Arjun Kapoor tweeted:

Reports suggested that Arjun Kapoor was allegedly manhandled by a driver. The person, who has been identified as Kamal Kumar, was in an inebriated state and had approached the actor in his vanity van. The incident took place when Kamal Kumar insisted on shaking hands with Arjun Kapoor. When the actor complied, Kumar reportedly tried to twist his hand. Kamal Kumar has been arrested for attempt to assault. His car has been seized by cops for drunk driving under the Motor Vehicle Act and he has also been fined Rs 500.

While speaking about the incident to Times of India, Dhyan Singh, station house officer (SHO) of Pithoragarh, said, "Kamal arrived in his car and tried to shake hands with Kapoor. But he was in an inebriated state and tried to twist the actor's hand. A medical examination of Kapoor was conducted and he was stated to be fine. We have written to the assistant regional transport officer, Naveen Kumar, to cancel Kamal's driving license on charges of driving while drunk."

The cast and crew of 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' have been shooting in Pithoragarh district since November 3. Produced by Yash Raj films, Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra are the lead actors in the movie.
