Following the arrival of British boy-band The Vamps in India, and the successive announcement of their collaboration with musical-duo Vishal-Shekhar, it appears that another international artiste is set to shake hands with composers from this part of the globe. Hitlist has learnt that Swedish DJ and record producer DJ Axwell, who flew into the city on Wednesday, visited composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's studio on the day of his arrival.
Refusing to confirm or deny a probable collaboration, Shankar Mahadevan exclusively tells hitlist, "There was no agenda for the meeting. Axwell is a celebrated DJ. He heard a few of our songs and played some of his music for us. We will be in touch and if something happens, we'll let you know. It's hard to predict anything immediately."
Ehsaan Noorani adds, "We chatted extensively about the EDM scene. Axwell has a deep understanding of music, so he could immediately connect to Indian music." Loy Mendosa adds that the top-ranking DJ confessed to being aware of their work, given Bollywood's popularity overseas.
Tanaaz Bhatia, managing director of Bottomline Media, the consulting company that brought both Axwell and The Vamps to India, says, "We will be identifying possible collaborations for him [Axwell] in India."
