Shahid Kapoor seems to be in perpetual argument mode with his directors. Following a verbal standoff with Vishal Bhardwaj during Kaminey, it is now learnt that he is squabbling quite often with debutant director Parmeet Sethi on the sets of a yet-untitled Yash Raj film.
A source from the sets reveals, "The unit of the film has gone to Bangkok to shoot two songs and a couple of scenes leading up to these songs. One night, the problem began at the Night Market area, just before the cast could break into a dance number. It was a late-night shoot and this particular scene was the last thing left to be canned.u00a0 Shahid couldn't get a particular expression right."
On purpose?
The source continues, "After various takes and re-takes were deemed unsatisfactory by the director, Shahid apparently lost his cool and stormed off the sets after getting into a rant with the director. The actor sounded off the director saying he was doing it on purpose to irritate him and locked himself in the vanity van refusing to shoot. Ahmed Khan, who was also present intervened and finally got Shasha to shoot."
Shahid never apologised to Parmeet and after this episode a cold war between the director and the actor began. A similar situation was averted when the unit was shooting in USA a few months back. Shahid had some problems with his costumes. The production team sorted things out at the time.
Both Shahid and Parmeet Sethi remained unavailable for comment. Meanwhile, the Yash Raj spokesperson commented on the squabble, "It's nonsense!"
