Actor Sameera Reddy loves her summer breaks. "This year, I am planning to go to Greece where my sister Meghna has built a wonderful summer house, which I am dying to see. I also want to spend some quality time with her and my brother in law Ariel. Sightseeing, shopping and adventure will also be on the cards," she says. As she plans her latest trip, she shares with CS some of her best holiday memories:
Goan sojourn
My earliest memory of a summer vacation with family was at Goa. I remember having a gala time at a beach playing in the sand, and tucking into the yummy food sold in the shacks. I made my dad lie down on the beach while I tried to bury him in sand. He patiently waited while I spent hours filling buckets full of sand.

Sun-n-surf
My trip to Australia in 2002 was my first trip abroad. It was in the month of December, when it's summer down under. I had gone there to shoot my first video for Pankaj Udhas' song Aur Ahista, which was a milestone in itself. A real treat was reserved for me after the shoot, when they took me to the Gold Coast in Brisbane. The sight of the golden beaches, surf, cafes, amusement parks, etc was an out-of-the-world experience for a young kid like me.u00a0
Beach babe
I went on a backpacking trip with friends to Thailand in 2004 for full three weeks. We toured the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Phang Nga, Koh Samet like vagabonds. The stunning islands were a feast for our eyes. I also learnt biking on this trip, though I fell off six times while riding.
Another kickass beach holiday was the one in Sharm-El-Shaikh, Egypt in 2008, which is a beach resort on the Red Sea. I went scuba diving in Sharm-El-Shaikh and the experience was unbelievable. The waters were beautiful and I spotted turtles, octopus, sharks, shipwrecks and a multitude of colourful fishes. I am dying to repeat that experience.u00a0
Sail away
The one holiday that takes the cake has to be the one in Greece in 2009 with sister Meghna and my Greek brother-in-law. We spent a week sailing around the island of Paros on the Aegean Sea. My Jiju taught me to sail, right from anchoring the boat to controlling the sails and living aboard a ship. So, from sleeping on a bunk to cooking on a moving boat, I learnt everything about the life of a sailor (smiles).
