Richa Chadha has joined the list of Indian actresses getting a big break in the West. The star, who recently wrapped up Fukrey 2 and a web-series, has been signed for an eight-episode American series.
Confirming the news, Richa’s spokesperson says, “Richa is excited about the new venture and looking forward to the experience. The show is a courtroom drama set against the ’70s racism-related unrest in Chicago. She plays a lawyer fighting the case to curb discrimination.”
The actress is currently prepping for the part, one of the three lead characters on the show, and will be stationed in Los Angeles for almost a month.
Apart from the TV series, the actress will also be attending screenings of her Indo-American movie, Love Sonia. Depicting brutal realities of human trafficking across the globe, the film is directed by Tabrez Noorani and also stars Demi Moore, Freida Pinto and Lion child actor Sunny Pawar.
The spokesperson adds, “The director has organised four screenings, which will be attended by top Hollywood celebrities.”
