For, the place shares its name with the upcoming film.
Says a source, “Not many are aware of this village. It is located in Mungaoli tehsil in Ashok Nagar district of Madhya Pradesh. Since the film is also titled Tamasha, the makers were keen to explore it. In fact, when Ranbir and Deepika heard about the village, they were intrigued and instantly decided to visit it before the film releases. It will be a unique way of promoting the film.”
The spokesperson for the film confirms the story.
Rural route
>> In August this year, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte along with director Ketan Mehta visited Gehlaur, a remote village in Bihar’s Gaya district, on the eighth death anniversary of Dashrath Manjhi, whose inspirational life was adapted into the biopic Manjhi: The Mountain Man. The unit had also shot major portions in the village.
>> While promoting 3 Idiots (2009), Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor visited Pranpur village in Madhya Pradesh and spent a day with a family of Chanderi handloom weavers. The two stars wove a saree (with assistance, of course), which was later auctioned through an NGO and the money went to the village’s development fund.
