The success of Salman Khan-starrer 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' (2015) sparked rumours that filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya was keen to do another film with the superstar soon. But buzz about the rumoured film getting shelved started doing the rounds.

However, when mid-day contacted Barjatya, he cleared the air, "The film hasn't been shelved. I want to make my next with Salman bhai. But there is a lot on my plate right now. We are about to launch four new television shows.

Plus, we're also hoping to introduce my son’s first film this year. There are a couple of more projects to be helmed by our production house. As director, I require time to sit back and work on a story. That’s why I requested Salman bhai for time before discussing it with him. The script is not even ready. Everything is still like a rough sketch in my mind."

The filmmaker recently launched his new TV show, Swabhimaan, and announced another one, Piyaa Albela, which will hit the small screen on March 6. "It's a modern vision of the classic tale of Vishwamitra-Menaka. But it’s a love story.”

He is also working on his third show, based on Meerabai. "We are also planning to produce a few movies that will be directed by debutant directors,” says Barjatya.
