I don't follow much cricket. I'll be honest about that right at the outset. Used to be more of a soccer fanatic. Of late, though, it rarely has me up and screaming my lungs out.

Cricket fanatic or not, you'll have no such hang-ups watching the journey of a team everyone expected would end up at the bottom of the table.
The first edition of the Indian Premier League was won by the selfsame team: the Rajasthan Royals.
The story begins at the end. In the dying overs of the finals of IPL 2008. The voiceover is all brimming with pride, didactically yet quite empathically telling you about the underdogs.
This is what Rocky Balboa has done to the promotion of sports. Right from the start, your heart goes out to the lowest valued team. The big shots (visually) remind you of a tournament past and the nostalgia trip seems repetitive.
And the biggest disappointment of all. They had a year to decide what to put in and all they could drum up were stock interviews of last year's players (I emphasise on "last year's" because the Pakistani players aren't playing this year).
It makes sense if you're looking to remember the big guns that fired last year and are looking for them to find it within them to defend their title. Either which way, the special features are boring.
The menu music is too loud and the players speak too softly. Switching between segments is an assault on your ears.

The outer packaging of the DVD seems adequate yet very plain but what's in it isn't. Royal thinktanks, any bright ideas?
