The third instalment of Tigmanshu Dhulia's romantic-thriller, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster (2011), will see cast members Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahie Gill reprise their respective characters, but Raj Babbar, we hear, will not feature in the film starring Sanjay Dutt.

The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president, who played the role of Birendra Pratap in the film's second instalment (2013), was detained and taken to police lines on Sunday when his team was trying to reach the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) campus, amidst the ongoing tension surrounding the case of alleged brutality committed on girl students.

A source from the unit tells mid-day, "[Owing to the detention] Babbar was unable to turn up at the film's Bikaner set, where shooting has commenced. The unit couldn't procure his dates, so, the makers decided to replace him with Zakir Hussain." Producer Rahul Mittra confirms the developments, but claims the decision to replace Babbar had little to do with the current tension in Varanasi. "The decision was taken since we were unable to get Rajji's dates. As other cast members also have commitments, we decided against stalling the Bikaner shoot," Mittra says.
