Priyanka's medical Scare

A medicine administered to her, during her recent hospital stay caused a severe reaction and she almost asphyxiated!

It was touch-and-go for Priyanka Chopra in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital on Saturday.

The actress was admitted for a stomach infection and exhaustion. But a medicine administered to her caused a severe reaction and she almost asphyxiated!

It is believed that the particular medicine is known to react in one out of 4,000 people. And PC turned out to be that one person.

Within seconds of being receiving the medicine, her face and limbs became bloated beyond recognition and she began gasping for breath. Quick intervention from the doctors saved her life.

Says a source, "Anything could have happened. Within seconds, a battery of experts stormed in and emergency antidotes were injected into her.

In a few hours Priyanka's condition improved. And everyone, including the actress breathed normally again." The doctors prescribed a week of complete bedrest after discharging her from hospital on Monday.

But Ashutosh Gowariker's set was waiting. On Tuesday morning, Priyanka weakly trudged to Mehboob Studios to shoot for What's Your Rashee with ex-beau Hurman Baweja, even though her parents tried to convince her to stay home.

Gowariker sent the actress messages saying he would wait but Tuesday was the last day of a song's shooting, and the dedicated actress didn't want to keep an entire crew waiting while she rested.

PC will go on a holiday immediately after WYR is completed and return to start shooting for Pyar Impossible with Uday Chopra and Jugal Hansraj.

What's your problem?

Ex-boyfriend and co-star Human Baweja did not drop in to see her at the hospital. Neither did his parents, Harry and Pammi Baweja, who treated her like family until last year.
