The film industry seems to be focusing on issues that has Prime Minister's eye on it like health and hygiene. Akshay Kumar recently met Narendra Modi to discuss his film 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' and is next film is on sanitary napkins which is a biopic on the Menstruation Man Arunachalam Muruganantham.
While Akshay's film is a biopic, here is Abhishek Saxena's film 'Phullu' starring the 'Filmistan' actor Sharib Hashmi that also deals with the 'sanitary napkins'. 'Phullu' is termed a social drama about a man who makes sanitary pads for the women in his village, and beyond, at affordable prices so that they won't suffer the way his wife did. The film also has an interesting tagline which goes like this "Jo aurat ka dard nahi samajhta, bhagwan usse mard nahi samajhta.
'Phullu' is directed by Abhishek Saxena, starring Sharib Ali Hashmi, Jyotii Sethi and Nutan Surya. The film is produced by Pusha Chaudhary, Dr. Anmol Kapoor, Kshitij Chaudhary and Raman Kapoor in association with AmbiAbhi Production. Story, screenplay and dialogue is by Shaheen Iqbal. The film is slated to release on the 16th of June, 2017.
