Neil battles it out

It takes a lot of gumption to put in a hard day at work when you've injured your fingers badly and there's no immediate medical aid in sight. But that's exactly what Neil Nitin Mukesh recently did while shooting for a film. After Johnny Gaddaar, Aa Dekhen Zara and Lafangey Parindey, Neil is all set to begin the new decade with some action and drama. A die hard action film fan, Neil talks to CS about his favourite action films and his adventure trails:

Who: Neil Nitin Mukesh
What: Talks about action films and his love for adventure
Where: On the sets of a film

Fast and furious
Ghayal tops my list of favourite action films. The fact that Ghayal has a soul says it all. Any action film or hero has to have some plot to it. Random hitting around doesn't make any sense to me. It either has to have a good soul or a bad soul, but it has to make sense. I think Ghayal had a huge impact as will the power-packed action, the film had an emotional connect with the audience. After seeing Ghayal, I became a big Sunny Deol fan. I also like Gadar merely for the way Sunny could reflect power through his dialogue delivery alone.

Sholay bole
Sholay is another film that I feel was great in action. The choreography was fantastic, especially the horse riding sequences. It had a larger than life effect. In recent times, Lahore had some fantastic action sequences, though it wasn't an action film. Even the Dhoom series has given a new angle to action in Bollywood. And off late, films like Dabaang, Singham have again set-in the trend of commercial action films.

Taste for adventure
I love adventure and action in my life. The reason why I am an actor is because it allows me to try out different things. The most action-packed stunt that I have ever done is to jump off from the 9th floor for Aa Dekhen Zara. I would really like to do something on the lines of Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Identity. They are slick action films and have my style of action in them. And it's not just for films, but I also try out whacky things in person. You name it and I have done it all. The craziest of them all was bungee jumping. I can't express the adrenaline rush I felt.u00a0u00a0u00a0

Health first
But to do this, focus and concentration is of utmost importance. Also, the right state of body, mind and soul. It is the combination of all three that will make you stronger. But I think one should work really hard to maintain one's health whether you work in films or not. After all, a fit mind is a key to a happy and healthy life.
