Nawazuddin especially learnt Marathi for it.

"Bombay Talkies", a congregation of four short films by Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar, is in celebration of 100 years of Indian cinema. Since the film will have a nationwide release, Banerjee felt it was best to give subtitles to Nawazuddin's dialogues.

Meanwhile Nawazuddin admits the film helped him learn a new language.

"I have learnt a new language. Approximately 40 percent of my dialogues are in Marathi. I attended a special workshop to learn the language and be able to deliver my dialogues perfectly. It was quite challenging, so I hope people appreciate the effort we have put into making this a special film," he said.

In the film he plays a role who is resident of Lalbaug.

"Bombay Talkies" will release May 3.
