Master Shef

it's the time for a new beginning for actor Shefali Shah. She turns 37 on Sunday. She's lost oodles of weight and is looking hotter than ever before, and the actor is gearing up to get noticed on the big screen (this time not just for her acting). Still undecided about her birthday plans because her kids are holidaying, she does hope that she'll get some fancy gifts from friends and family. And a hit too when her film releases. She chats with CS about birthdays, and her definition of a perfect day:

Blow the candles
Looks like this birthday is not going to be too great since my kids are off to Spain for a 10-day soccer camp and I am also in the middle of shifting houses. I might call all my close friends over for a party and then a sleepover. I am not much of a birthday person. I like planning celebrations for people special to me, but I can't do that for myself. But yes, I do enjoy receiving gifts on my big day and this year, I have a long list that includes an iPod, a diamond ring and a car. I hope that my friends manage to get the hint across to Vipul (husband).

A day in my life
My definition of a perfect day would be one when I'm able to catch up on my sleep. Everyday I am awake till 4am, and thatu00a0 sometimes makes me rather cranky. So for starters, good sleep would definitely help. A close second would be getting a good morning kiss from my kids before I open my eyes. I also like the idea of spending the day with the kids when I can take them out for a film and then maybe lunch. It's always a blessing to stumble upon a day when my children don't want to kill each other. The best end to my perfect day would be catching up with friends late in the evening. But truth be told, I have never had a day when all the above has fallen into place.

It's all about me
Being a housewife I have learnt that 'me time' is very important. Until you respect yourself and your likes and dislikes, no one else will. You have to find time for yourself no matter how busy you might be in life. For me, my walks and my reading time are very precious. A glass of wine, a book in hand and silence is all I need to relax and unwind. But with the kids around it is highly impossible, so in the night after kids and Vipul are sound asleep, I spend sometime with myself. That's the only way I can stay sane in this super busy world.
