The filmmaker has filed a complained with the cyber cell on Saturday in regards the same. A source close to the filmmaker said, “Neeraj Pandey has never been associated with the ID and has nothing to do with the auditions. These kind of incidents have been on the rise recently and filmmakers and casting directors unfortunately have to deal with them from time to time.”
The filmmaker’s office clarified that people must be cautious of such fake IDs, which might invite trouble under the pretext of movie auditions.
It maybe recalled that there have been many such instances in the past. Actor Ranveer Singh was victim of a hoax last year when emails were sent out from a fake account of his, asking for images of bikini-clad models and actors. Same was the case with UTV head honcho Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Actress Sayali Bhagat too had a tough time after someone hacked into her Twitter account and accused big names from the film industry of promising her roles for sexual favours. Also, leading casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s account was hacked into recently, and e-mails were sent to well-known actors, asking them to audition for his latest film.
