Madhurima Tuli may have starred in a number of Hindi, Tamil and Telegu films but the actress says it was being part of last year's commercial for a mobile service provider that opened new avenues in her career.

Madhurima will be next seen playing Bollywood star Akshay Kumar's wife in upcoming film 'Baby', which she said she bagged after director Neeraj Pandey saw her in the advert.

"I would say that the ad campaign was a blessing. Though there were some controversies around it, at the end of it people know me through this. Neeraj also saw me there and liked it," Madhurima said.
The actress said she was initially approached for Pandey's production venture 'Saat Uchakke' but didn't get finalised for it eventually.

Madhurima is playing mother to two kids in the film. When asked if she was apprehensive to do the role, the actress said, "When the casting director narrated the script, I was a little reluctant. I was not sure how I would look portraying a mother of two but then Akshay sir and Neeraj convinced me."

Madhurima is also sporting a different look in the film, which is a far cry from the short bob she had in the TV commercial.

"I am sporting long hair as Neeraj wanted me to change my personality a bit. Otherwise people would have directly connected me with the commercial," she said.

Besides Akshay and Madhurima, 'Baby' also stars Anupam Kher, Rana Daggubati, Tapsee Pannu, Danny Denzongpa and Kay Kay Menon. The film will hit theatres on January 23.
