MBA by chance
I always wanted to be in films. In my school and college, I was always involved in dramatics and music. But It was my dad who insisted on me completing my education before joining films, as we didn't have any contacts in the industry. So I did my BCom and MBA. However, my friends always knew that I would be in the business of entertainment. I landed up with Mani Ratnam in my first project as it was my dream to become a director!
Striking a connect
Striker is the kind of film that I would like to see as today's audience. It will create my identity as an actor and will hopefully establish me in Bollywood. It's a chance for me to create my identity in the market place where there are so many great actors. For me, it is a chance to get in to their club. I was missing from the scene for some time now because after doing RDB, my expectations were very high. No matter what I wear or what look I sport, people still say, 'Arre, woh dekho Rang De's Karan.' So I really needed something strong. Thankfully I've found it after four years. Though I was offered quite a few films, nothing really appealed to me. If it was not for this film, I would have definitely felt bad about my rejecting Delhi 6 and many others! Striker is a film I believe in and according to me, it will make a difference in the Hindi film industry.
Jack of all
I am a very creative person. I love doing different things. In my upcoming film, I have acted, produced the music and have sung two songs. In next film, if I am allowed to, I will probably try doing something new as well. Basically, I love cinema. I am not good as a playback singer, but definitely good as an actor!
Passionately in love
Watching movies and playing games are the biggest passions of my life. Whenever I am travelling, I play full time. I love watching all types of films. For that matter, I came to make movies, because I watch a lot of movies. It's very difficult to say which one is my favourite though. I watch too many films; sometimes I watch three films in a day!
