It was a completely non-celebrity, white beach wedding," a guest from Lisa Haydon's nuptials reveals, requesting anonymity. The Queen (2013) actress got hitched over the weekend to boyfriend, Pakistan-born British businessman Dino Lalvani, who she has been dating for a year.
The wedding was held at Amanpuri, a beach resort in Phuket, Thailand. Lisa's near and dear ones, including sister Malika Haydon, designer Malini Ramani, footballer Ameeta Venkat and Nina Shah (Malika's partner in DJ duo The Electrovertz), were part of the celebrations.
Lisa's South Indian father, Venkat, walked her down the aisle — steps of the resort leading to the beach — in a white suit. Lisa was a stunner in a white gown and headgear; her 42-year-old groom donned a blue shirt and white blazer. The bridesmaids wore short white-and-beige dresses.
The guest says, "Lisa was giddy like a school girl. She twirled like a ballerina as she walked to the beach, us holding the long lace train of her dress." It was a short exchange of vows in Christian tradition, followed by uncorking of the bubbly. "When Dino was told, 'You may now kiss the bride', he leaned in for a romantic French kiss and wouldn't stop until Lisa was almost breathless. The two are made for each other," says the guest, who stayed on at the resort for a day with friends of the actress.
Ramani was the first to break the news by posting pics on Instagram. Although an Europe wedding was planned for next year, the couple decided to get hitched this year itself — Dino proposed in September — in Thailand. Says the guest, "They kept the wedding date a secret to avoid talk around it."
