The play also features Ranvir's good friends Vinay Pathak and Rajat Kapoor, alongwith Sheeba Chadha. The Blue Mug is a theatrical creation based on The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat by Oliver Sacks. Interestingly, Naseeruddin Shah, who Konkona considers her mentor, lent his farmhouse in Panvel foru00a0 rehearsals.
A source reveals, "Konkona was thrilled when Naseer appeared for their rehearsals. In fact, he offered them the farmhouse when he realised that the troupe didn't have a proper place to rehearse." And the actress sent Naseer flowers as a token of appreciation.
It is learnt that director Atul Kumar has incorporated many personal experiences of the cast into the script. "Both Ranvir and Konkona gave their creative inputs to Atul and he skillfully weaved them into the story. Konkona plays a doctor while Ranvir a middle aged man struggling with inner strife."
