Kavita's Color Carnival

If one were to pick the most memorable show of the day sans superstar power, it was Kavita Bhartia's, and here's why

Don't get fooled by Neha Dhupia in black, Kavita Bhartia stole the show on Day Two of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week with her colour riot. The clothes took cue from Brazilian and Goan carnivals, peacocks, fire dances et al, with boldness and brevity dripping from every hem (except of course, in exceptions like the flowing number you see to the right). Titled Carnivale, the line was divided into five parts: Neon Flash, Navajo Summer, Fire & Earth, Peacock Fantasy and Gothic Maharani. Tie-dye, block printing and cross-stitches in bright hues made the numbers both naughty and nice. Meanwhile, Neha, too, had a thing or two to say. "There is always nervousness, but my excitement to walk the ramp always overcomes it. I completely enjoyed myself in the beautiful yet comfortable creations of Kavita. I felt very feminine, very festive."

Black beauty: Ebony can make just about anyone look elegant, or so says Neha Dhupia's expression

Ironically, though, Kavita's black beauty isn't a "very colour person," and her fav colours are black and white. "I was so glad when I got to know I will be adorning a black number." Paradoxes, as they say, are the prettiest.

Namrata's big NO to Sanjana

Why designers played spoilsport when it came to Sanjana Jon's show

Sorry, no sympathies for Sanjana, or so said the fash frat for the last show of the day, even as biggies Sush and Sallu with li'l bro Sohail walked the woo-way. "I, for one, am not going for it," said Namrata Joshipura. Many like her felt that Sanjana wasn't 'qualified enough,' and was encashing on bro Anand Jon's case, even as he's behind bars. Feroze Gujral, too, seconded the opinion. But star power proved her act a winner.

Chaanta laga, and Tweet hua!
Forget backslapping, WLIFW yesterday was about some real strong slapping, too. And guess who saw it first?
Gul Panag. The actor didn't let her rare spotting go waste. She Tweeted about the incident immediately. Her update on Twitter read: 'Tempers flying at parking entry! One poor guard got slapped by a WLIFW patron as cars continued to pille.'

"The incident took place around 3.30 pm, when we were nearing the venue. Due to the rush, guests were being checked for passes at the parking, which led to a pile-up of cars. And the poor guard got slapped." We only wish people'd be more patient, and Gul, a part-time reporter. Tee hee.
