Katrina Kaif has agreed to participate in the Zee Carnival to be held in Chicago on Independence Day. The Carnival will be held on August 15 and 16 and has been put together by a South Asian organisation.

The actress, who is presently holidaying in London with her family, will travel to the US in August to attend the Independence Day celebrations. Karim Morani, who is handling the event says, "Yes Katrina along with Shah Rukh, Bipasha, Kareena, Saif and other actors will be in Chicago for the event."

When asked if it will be a performance-based event he adds, "No it's not a money-making exercise. This is basically an opportunity for the local Indians to meet and greet actors and interact with them."u00a0

No reminders, please!

Kat confirms, "Yes I am going for the Zee carnival in Chicago." The actress, who celebrates her birthday on July 16, will be with her family. Last year, on her birthday Shah Rukh-Salman fought; this year she wanted to far away from the city, lest she be reminded of the ugly episode. A source close to Salman reveals that the actor won't be joining her in London as he is shooting with Ayesha Takia for Boney Kapoor's Wanted.
