Filmmaker Karan Johar has urged the audience not to watch the leaked version of 'Udta Punjab' which is available online as it is not the correct way to view a movie.

The Abhishek Chaubey film, which was mired in controversies with the censor board, was leaked on the Internet yesterday.


"I would request all, please do not watch the leaked film online. Filmmakers make the films with a lot of hardwork passion and energy and to watch it on any other format other than the format that it was designed to be is incorrect, illegal. Please watch it in cinema halls and not online," Johar told reporters here.

The film, scheduled to release tomorrow, stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan among others.

The "My Name is Khan" director was speaking at the unveiling of new search features of Google.

When asked what does he search online, Johar quipped that he won't disclose that but said there is no filmmaker "who can function without the functions of google."

At the event, Johar introduced the new features of thesearch engine and also engaged in his trademark rapid-fire round from his show 'Koffee With Karan'.
