"He (Aamir) is somebody I look up to...he is one of the finest and biggest actors our country has ever seen," Kabir told reporters here at an event.
"He talks about various issues and does films on them. I respect him and his views. He is a very dedicated actor. There is a lot to look up to to him," the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" director said.
The two Bollywood personalties have never worked with each other but last year when Aamir got embroiled in the "intolerance" controversy, Kabir came out in his support.
Kabir was speakingg at actor Arshad Warsi's wife Maria Goretti's book launch. The couple hosted the book launch at a suburban restaurant and it was attended by Kabir and several other celebrities from B-town like Mini Mathur, Tusshar Kapoor, Homi Adajania, Sneha Ullal, Shirya Saran and others.
The 'Ek Tha Tiger' helmer revealed he is a big foodie but not a great cook. "While we were shooting for 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' I remember food used to come from Salman's house everyday. At least 8 to 10 dishes that too for 40 people!"
"Salma aunty (Salman's mother) cooks amazing food. When we shoot in Mumbai or around Mumbai the food comes from Salman's house," he added.
Arshad is happy his wife Maria, who is a great cook, has finally come up with her own book.
"Maria has worked very hard for it (book). She is very dedicated, authentic and realistic person and made sure everything was proper right from the recipes to the colour of the dishes in the book."
The "Jolly LLB" actor believes in eating everything and anything but insists exercise is a must to keep in good shape and health.
"I have seen Salman eating food items from briyani to pastries and then he does exercise. I feel this is the right way. I think the diet food that we get is chemically treated it is better," Arshad added.
The 47-year-old actor has interesting slate of films like Prakash Jha's home production "Fraud Saiyyan", "Irada" with Naseeruddin Shah and "Michael Mishra".
"Work on these three films 'Fraud Saiyyan', 'Irada' and 'Michael Mishra' is almost complete. We will then start work on 'Munnabhai' third part," he added.
