If things fall into place, then John Abraham might just make his first biopic based on the life of JRD Tata. The Madras Café actor-producer will be playing the protagonist as well.

A source close to John says, “After delivering two successful films under his banner, John is now looking forward to do a realistic character. He has already registered three titles -- JRD Tata, Jamshed Ji and Tata Sons -- under his production house thus giving rise to speculations of him being interested in the biopic on the famous business tycoon.”

John has not been part of any biopic so far and has expressed his desire to do one in the past. “Like JRD, who was half-Parsi, John too is a half-Parsi from his mother’s side. And he’s quite familiar with the Parsi lifestyle. So, obviously, he won’t have to dwell much on research. Having said, he’ll have to complete all formalities before going ahead with the script,” adds the insider.

If the project goes ahead, Shoojit Sircar may direct the film. However, the Vicky Donor director says, “As of now, nothing is final. It is not yet confirmed.”

JRD Tata?
Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, had spent most of his early life in France as his mother was French. After serving in the French army, he moved to Bombay.
