Ishaara kis ke taraf, vo?

On Independence Day, Vivek Oberoi appeared to be in an extremely emotional mood. He posted this message on a social networking site: "Sometimes in life we have to say goodbye to the person we love without wanting to.

Sometimes goodbye is just a painful way to say I love you... Sometimes it's time to leave... even if you don't know where to go from here... because the worst thing in life is trying to hold on to someone who doesn't want to be held on to.." OMG, our hearts have melted and we are dewy-eyed.

FK: IT'S OKAY

Tonight the main cast of Life Partner will be going to PVR Juhu at 9 pm to tell the audience to go and watch the film.

Fardeen Khan says, "We are going there to dispel apprehensions about swine flu and create awareness that Life Partner is releasing in theaters from today. We will tell people that it's okay to come out and watch the film.

Though we haven't got good reviews, the collections have been fantastic. It's a film which we are proud and confident of and we want public reactions."

The multiplex will also hold a pan-India contest where the cast will give away prizes to the winners.

SELLING TICKETS

Shahid Kapoor's fans are in for a treat. The actor will be making the rounds of the city's major multiplexes from 11 am onwards today selling tickets of his latest release.

Normally actors go to theatres and watch films with the audience but Shasha will be selling tickets at the counter.

He explains, "This film has been a labour of love for me and the whole team. We were quite sad when audiences in Mumbai and Pune couldn't see the film along with the rest of the world.

Now that the film is releasing in Mumbai from today I am going to do all that I can to support it."

TARUN MANSUKHANI
The Movies I Loved Growing Up

The Dostana director lists his pick of flicks...

Satte Pe Satta: It's clearest in my memory because it was the first film we saw as a family at home on our brand new VCR player. I remember going crazy about the lead actor's double role in the film and the background score for his character, Babu. Am playing it in my head as I speak. One of my favourite scenes in the film is when Ranjeeta jumps up from her wheelchair and starts walking when Babu (with grey-green contacts) is about to kill her. Wonder if it really works?

JAANE BHI DO YAARON:
One of my favourite films of all time. The humour and situations in the film are amazing. But the most amazing thing is Satish Shah's performance. It's just outstanding. I often find myself repeating dialogues from the film. The strangest memory I have attached to the film is when I was watching it in office one day (for the 700th time!) I finished it and walked out of the room and Satish Shah was standing there! He had come to meet Karan!

Andaaz Apna Apna: This is virtually everyone's favourite. Once again, the humour and the performances by Aamir and Salman set the film firmly in my memory. But the best part of the film is Crime Master Gogo and his ghagra cape. My advice: If you're ever upset, get some friends together and watch this film.

KABHIE KABHIE: Do I really need to specify why???

Waaris: A relatively unknown film today. It had Dharamji, Jeetendra, Manorama, and a few others I can't remember.

It was the story of a small kingdom whose prince had run away from home and years later on his 18th birthday three people show up claiming to be the prince. What I remember the most is the villian of this film.

He was bald with a French beard and wore gloves which if clapped together would give out an electric current. This was the stuff James Bond films were made of. A must watch!

SHAAN: By far, the most forward film: technically and in its styling. The chairs that fall back. The underwater den, the dog chase sequence with Sunil Duttji, the helicopter shots, the vans pushing the car. What a film!

DUGGU's GUZaARISH LOOK

Hrithik Roshan took time off from the shoot of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish to feature in Farah Khan's chat show Tere Mere Beach Mein.
