B'day togetherness

family time: Randhir Kapoor and (left) Karisma and Sanjay Kapur

Kareena Kapoor had a quiet birthday (April 20) for her mom Babita. Dad Randhir, sister Karisma, brother-in-law Sanjay Kapur and beau Saif Ali Khan were present. Says a source, "Bebo has always tried to be in town for her mom's birthday as she's extremely close to her. In spite of a hectic schedule, Bebo made sure the birthday was special. The actress was shooting in Chandigarh with director Imtiaz Ali for a snack ad but she completed it and rushed back to Mumbai on Saturday for the birthday which was planned by her and Lolo. The Kapoors and Saif had a great time with Saif playing the joker and keeping everyone in splits with his mimicry. At midnight, Babita cut a cake and then Kareena and Saif flew off to London for Rensil D'Silva's film shoot."

Sallu to cheer for Preity's Kings

Salman Khan seems to be the latest poster boy for campaigning and cheerleading. He is busy campaigning for almost every political party. Now we hear he will also cheer for Preity Zinta's Kings XI Punjab. Sources reveal that Preity asked Sallu to fly down to South Africa for one of her matches and he gave her his word. A source reveals, "This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the SRK-Salman rivalry. With Khan Bhai cheering for Preity's team, it will be interesting to see what SRK supporters will bring to the table!"

Beware Mr Perfectionist!
We are worried for Aamir Khan, who is also known as Mr Perfection. A report by Dalhousie University warns that perfectionism is not a healthy approach to life's challenges and such people are prone to binge eating.

An expert adds that, binge eating becomes an effort to escape from being overwhelmed with feelings of loneliness, failure and sadness.

It's a good thing that Adnan Sami is not a perfectionist. Else with all the trauma in his personal life, he would've hit the dinner plate with vengeance.

Maybe he should write another letter to the Pakistani PM and President asking them to come and help him lock his Kelvinator because really, there is no bigger agenda facing them than Sami's domestic problems.

Act on
Singer Babul Supriyo may be missing from the B-Town circuit but he is fulfilling his acting aspirations. Sandip Ray (son of the legendary Satyajit Ray) has cast Babul in his Bengali film which goes on the floors next month. The singer will also be seen in Ogo Bodhu Shundori opposite Sreelekha Mitra (who featured in a cola ad with Aamir Khan).

The comedy is a take-off on the '80s film of the same name which starred Uttam Kumar. The singer-turned-actor made his debut in Taran Mazumdar's Chander Beri opposite Rituparna Sen Gupta. Next is what, Babul?
