A salute!

One with the kids: Sunil Shetty

Child artistes Tanay Chheda and Ashutosh Gajiwala (who were in Slumdog Millionaire) were also present. The gathering observed a prayer of silence to those lost in the tragic incident of 26/11 and then lit candles. Good going, peeps.

Amrita Rao really must stop wearing granny colours. this is her second appearance in less than two weeks in these grey gowns. all the colour is reserved for the sofa covers and curtains in the Rao home, kya?

Padma Shri Ash

Amitabh Bachchan is thrilled that bahu Aishwarya Rai has bagged the Padma Shri. The proud pa-in-law can't conceal his excitement as he says on his blogu2026 "The mobiles from the media kept a strong presence for bytes on her achievement.

How do you feel today, sir? How do I feel? How would anyone feel when one's daughter wins accolade and distinction!u00a0... I have been there four times. Once to see my father receive the Padma Bhushan; twice, when I received the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan and once to see Jaya get the Padma Shri." Next, Abhishek ki bari?

Cap time again

Himesh Reshammiya has started wearing a cap again. In the last few episodes of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009, the composer who was one of the judges has been spotted in woollen caps.

A birdie flitting around his make-up room chirps to say that whatever he had done for the Chinese hairstyle (his words, not ours) for Karzzzz is coming apart. So he can now longer be seen sans a topi, as a result he is forced to hide whatever's left! Just wish he'd accept his baldness like a man!

True love

Now even Sonam Kapoor has a tattoo. Unlike other actors like Sanjay Dutt and Saif Ali Khan, who inked the names of the ladies they love on their bodies, this bratty actress has gone and gotten a tat of her own name on her hip bone! She explains, "Sonam means good luck and I have got it in the Chinese script. Why should I tattoo someone else's name? It had to be something significant. Like my name." Now that's a bit narcissistic, no?

Anil's special

Rani Mukerji chooses not to have many friends in the film industry but Anil Kapoor is definitely on that exclusive list. When the Queen Bee could not make it to the premiere of Slumdog Millionaire, she made it a point to drop by his office the following day to give him her best wishes in person. Few friends, fewer moviesu2026 Wish she wasn't so selective about everything.

Spotted

Minissha Lamba and Yuvraj Singh were making out at Aurus over the weekend. Isn't that interesting since she's already supposed to have a boyfriend, Suhail Rathore. Wonder what he makes of that news?

After 25 years

While A R Rahman and Gulzar are being feted for their Jai Ho track in Slumdog Millionaire, the poet is now collaborating with Rahman's mentor Ilaiyaraja after 25 years after Balu Mahendra's Sadma. Now it's for a film titled SRK. The lyricist is not too fond of the title though.

"Hopefully it will change. What the film changes the idiom of expression for film music. I feel Shaad Ali's Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and Anurag Kashyap's No Smoking gave me a chance to experiment with words in a way that film music generally doesn't.

Now I feel the same way about my poetry in SRK." About working with Ilaiyaraja again he adds, "His aptitude and skills for creating the perfect harmony have not altered at all. He is one of a kind. I wish he was heard more often in Hindi cinema." Here's hoping!

RAZA'S BOLLYWOOD

Q Why do few mothers-in-law keep mum even after being aware of their daughter-in-law's extra marital affairs?

Au00a0 Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi 'Bahu' Thi.
