Come December, designers will get their own awards, with the announcement of the India Glamour And Fashion Awards, that will be hosted in Mumbai. It will coincide with the moving of India Resort Wear Fashion Week from Goa to the city
The city will get a high dose of glitz and glamour in December this year with the shift of the India Resort Wear Fashion Week (IRFW) from Goa to Mumbai along with the inaugural edition of the India Glamour And Fashion Awards that aims to recognise and felicitate fashion talents across industries.

“This year, at India Resort Fashion Week, we plan to recognise the fashion fraternity by announcing India Glamour And Fashion Awards. Through this initiative, we aim to reward the people who have made this industry so successful,” says designer Rocky S, who is the Creative Designer of IRFW and India Glamour And Fashion Awards.
The Fashion Week and the award function will take place a few days apart and actress Bipasha Basu has been brought on board as the face of both properties. “India Resort Wear Fashion Week is a unique concept and a great platform to promote holiday wear apparels and accessories.
Holidays are not only limited to friends and family but also to weddings. Considering how the concept of destination weddings is picking up, I think, resort wear is an untapped industry in India, with a lot of scope. This year, India Resort Wear Fashion Week will be showcasing collections ranging from bright formal dresses to apocalypse-inspired flow-y gowns for a desert destination -- now who wouldn’t want to see that!” says Basu.
As far as the awards are concerned, the actress feels that everyone from the fashion fraternity needs to be applauded for the outstanding work that they do. “Everybody in the fashion fraternity including designers, make-up artists, hair stylists, music composers, choreographers, stage designers, fashion icons and celebrities should get their due recognition. It is the right time to honour everyone involved and that is exactly what we are going to do at India Glamour And Fashion Awards this year,” she believes.
Finally, when prodded about the reason for the shift of IRFW from Goa to Mumbai, Rocky explains, “Mumbai has been ranked among the Top 50 fashion capitals of the world. Need I say more? Also, it will be convenient for the fashion fraternity and the media, as it is a well-connected destination on the world map. The city is also in sync with trendsetters, style icons, and renowned fashion designers.” u00a0
