Kangana Ranaut is said to be eyeing an Independence Day release for Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. The actor feels the biopic on the warrior queen makes for a fitting August 15 outing. If things fall into place, Kangy will lock horns with Akshay Kumar as Gold is due on the same date.
The makers of Khiladi's film had booked the date in 2016 when the film was announced. Given that Gold is a patriotic tale, inspired from India's historic Olympic hockey win in 1948, they too feel August 15 is apt. It is said Kangy feels there is room for both to flourish. Time will tell.
